Subasta Agricultural Corporation Employees Union (SACEU), an old local of the Associated Labor Unions (ALU), held its election of officers on 10 September 2011 in Subasta, Calinan District, Davao City.
SACEU is one of the six local unions affiliated with the ALU, under the management of the Sumifru Philippines Corporation. The company has 400 regular rank-and-file employees who are union members.
Pablo Sullano and Noel Tesoro were re-elected as President and Vice- President, respectively. Since no one filed for the positions of Secretary, Treasurer and Auditor, Sullano said he will fill up the three vacant positions on the union’s first board meeting.
Of the five Board members, Barry B. Patalinghug and Primo R. Ponce, Jr., are first-term officers while Nelson Borja, Juanito R. Baring and Benjie A. Escolar are re-electionists.
The new set of local union officers vowed to serve for a term of five years in accordance with provisions of the Labor Code or until their successors are duly elected and qualified.
