Freedom of association is central to empowering workers to collectively bargain, advocate for their rights, and influence workplace conditions. Thus, it is among ALU’s objectives to defend the rights of workers to freely associate with unions and labor organizations without fear of coercion, discrimination, retaliation, punitive actions from employers, or any unfair practices that might deter workers from joining or participating in unions.
The ALU’s advocacy for freedom of association seeks to create a robust environment where workers can freely exercise their constitutional and statutory rights and collectively address workplace issues. This advocacy ensures that workers have the necessary tools and protections to organize, collectively bargain or negotiate, and advocate for their best interests in a supportive and equitable manner.
