The Associated Labor Unions (ALU) stands firmly with workers in their pursuit of decent work and livable wages.
Wages are one of ALU’s central advocacies, reflecting our commitment to ensuring fair, equitable, and dignified compensation for all workers. The advocacy on living wage goes beyond what is guaranteed by the Constitution. It is not merely about meeting the legal minimum wage, but about achieving a decent standard of living that allows workers and their families to live with security, health, and dignity.
The advocacy on wage aims to address disparities in pay, enhance workers’ economic stability and security, promote the concept of a living wage, and safeguard the rights and welfare of workers, contributing to a more just and equitable world of work.
ALU participated in wage advocacy including negotiating for wage adjustments both in local and national settings to ensure that wages keep pace with inflation and rising living costs, and that these adjustments reflect the productivity gains and the value of workers’ contributions. The Union’s advocacy efforts also include initiating and engaging in campaigns and lobbying efforts to influence legislation and policy changes.
