Today, on International Youth Day, we celebrate the power, passion, and potential of young workers. As the future of work continues to change—shaped by technology, climate challenges, and evolving industries, it is clear: youth must not only adapt to this future, we must be at the forefront.
In the trade union movement, young people are not just tomorrow’s leaders, we are leaders now. Through collective action, education, and solidarity, we are building a future of work that is just, inclusive, and empowering.
This year, we also honor a victory for workers: with the continued service of the TUCP Partylist, workers’ voices have once again made a mark in the halls of power. This win reminds us that when we organize, when we stand together, we can shape policies that uplift lives and protect rights.
But the struggle continues. ALU Youth stands firm in advocating for the ₱200 legislated wage increase because workers deserve a fair wage that meets the cost of living. We also push for a Just Transition—ensuring that as industries shift to greener economies, workers are protected, skills are developed, and no one is left behind.
On this International Youth Day, we move forward with hope—not a passive hope, but a determined one that fuels organizing drives, empowers negotiations, and wins battles for dignity at work. The hope that turns young workers into champions of change.
Together, we will shape the future of work. Together, we will keep fighting for a just, fair, and sustainable world for all.
